Angelin Preljocaj est un danseur et chorégraphe français de danse contemporaine. Son travail chorégraphique est ancré dans ses écrits sur l’histoire du ballet classique, mais il est résolument contemporain. Il fait son entrée au Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris au début des années 1990. En 1995, il se voit décerner le Prix Benois de la Danse comme chorégraphe. En décembre 1984, il fonde la compagnie de ballet qui, en 1996, prend le nom de Preljocaj Ballet lorsqu’elle emménage dans sa résidence actuelle au Pavillon Noir d’Aix-en-Provence.
